Princes in the Tower Petition
Good morning!
Today looks like a lovely day – warm, but thankfully not scorching. I hope you all enjoy your Sunday.
Before anything else, I’d like to say a huge thank you to Rachel, Rick, Stuart, Karen, James, and one other supporter who only left a surname (you know who you are!). Six more people have taken the time to sign my petition calling for DNA testing of the remains that could – or could not – be those of the two Princes in the Tower, the sons of King Edward IV and Queen Elizabeth Woodville.
Every signature genuinely means a great deal.
But I need many more.
Why am I asking on a Sunday? Because if this campaign is going to succeed, I have to keep asking. I’ve been doing so almost every day for the past 16 months, and at my current rate, I’ll still be campaigning in 2029.
So let me ask you a question.
How many more books will be written about the Princes? How many more debates will be held? How many more event tickets will people buy? All of these can offer fascinating opinions, but none of them can prove who lies within the urn in Westminster Abbey.
Science can.
When Professor Turi King led the DNA identification of Richard III, it demonstrated what modern forensic science can achieve. The technology exists, the expertise exists, and the testing could be carried out with minimal intervention.
Signing my petition costs nothing. Less than the price of a book. Less than the price of a ticket to another debate.
So today, why not become part of history?
