Norfolk’s Norman Giant

Standing proudly above the city for almost 1,000 years, Norwich Castle is one of England’s finest Norman keeps. Although famous for its Norman origins, the castle witnessed the dramatic changes that transformed England through the Plantagenet and Tudor periods.

Every stone has seen kings, queens, prisoners, rebels and ordinary people whose lives shaped our history.

It is places like this that remind us that history is not simply found in books – it surrounds us every day if we take the time to look.

As a historical novelist, visiting sites like Norwich Castle helps bring the world of my Tudor novels to life and reminds me why preserving our heritage is so important.

If you have never visited, it is well worth adding to your list.

Have you been to Norwich Castle? What was your favourite part?
