Meet the Characters – from my novel: The Reflection in the Mirror
Sir Rafe (Ralph) Sadler
Ralph Sadler entered the household of Thomas Cromwell when he was just six years old. A thoughtful, serious child, he grew into a man of intelligence and quiet strength. Cromwell became more of a father to him than his own, and Ralph’s loyalty to his master never wavered.
That loyalty and steadiness carried him far. Rising to the post of Private Secretary to the King, Ralph found himself at the very heart of Henry VIII’s turbulent court. He stood firm while others fell, watching lives ruined and friends destroyed, yet always striving to remain honourable.
In many ways, Ralph is the true heart of this story — a man trying to do right, to hold fast to loyalty and integrity, in a world where both were all too easily cast aside.
The novel is now available as a paperback, or on Kindle, and hardback copies will be on sale shortly.
