A call for Dignity

A call for Dignity

In the past few days, many people have signed the petition calling for scientific testing of the bones believed to be those of the Princes in the Tower. I am deeply grateful for that support.

I would also like to say something directly to those who admire and study the life of Richard III.

This campaign is not an accusation.

The question of who was responsible for the disappearance of the Princes has been debated for more than five centuries, and historians remain divided. That debate will no doubt continue.

But there is another question which sits entirely apart from the question of guilt:

Who are the bones in the urn?

Those remains lie in Westminster Abbey, believed to be Edward V and his brother Richard of York.

If they are indeed the two York princes, then they deserve the dignity of certainty.

And if they are not, then those individuals — whoever they were — deserve to have their identities understood as far as modern science allows.

In recent years, we have seen what careful science can achieve. The identification of Richard III himself showed how historical questions once thought impossible can be answered.

The purpose of this petition is simple:

Not to accuse.

Not to reopen old quarrels.

But to bring clarity, dignity, and truth to two children whose fate still haunts English history.

If they were princes of royal blood, they deserve to be recognised as such.

And if they were not, then we owe it to history to discover who they were.

Please take a view of my website www.murderinthetower.london and sign to solve this outstanding mystery.
