The Princes in the Tower – yet more debate…
As of today, there is another YouTube video discussing where the Princes in the Tower may be buried. To save you the time, I have watched it. Like many videos on this subject, it contains a great deal of background information that is already well known, together with further theories about the Princes’ final resting place.
I welcome anyone who continues to search for the truth. However, after more than 540 years, I believe there is only one meaningful way to move this debate forward.
We need permission to undertake a modern, minimally invasive scientific examination of the remains in the urn at Westminster Abbey.
With today’s advances in DNA analysis and other forensic techniques, we have the opportunity to answer the first and most fundamental question:
Are these the remains of Edward V and Richard, Duke of York?
Or are they not?
Whatever the outcome, we will be one significant step closer to the truth.
If the remains are shown to be the Princes, one of England’s greatest historical mysteries will finally have a scientific answer.
If they are not, historians can then pursue alternative theories with renewed purpose and evidence-based direction.
Until that first question is answered, every alternative burial theory remains speculation.
