I shall be honest — it brought tears to my eyes.

As many of you will know, I am still very new to being an author, and today I received the most extraordinary email from a reader about my book.
I shall be honest — it brought tears to my eyes.
Below is what she said in brief:
The Reflection in the Mirror, I felt I just had to write to you to say how much I enjoyed it. So beautifully written! I was completely engrossed in it and couldn’t put it down. I have read a lot of Tudor history, and I found your sympathetic interpretation of Catherine Howard’s tragic life so interesting and gripping. The book completely transported me back to that time, and it’s a long time since that has happened. I loved your characterisation and ability to recreate Tudor life. Having finished the book I was very keen to read more of your work so was disappointed to discover that I will have to wait for the next book in the series! I hope you plan on writing lots more. Thank you for a lovely and rare experience. Just beautiful.

Writing is often a quiet, solitary process, filled with doubt as much as hope. Messages like this remind me why I do it.
Thank you, sincerely, to every reader who has taken the time to write, read, recommend, or simply feel something through my work.
Thanks
