Meet the Characters – From my novel The Reflection in the Mirror
In the Tudor court, even reflections can betray you.
London, 1540. As the axe falls on Thomas Cromwell, the tremors of his downfall ripple through every chamber of Whitehall. Into this world of shifting loyalties and sharpened smiles steps Catherine Howard, newly arrived, young, enchanting, and dangerously unprepared for the throne that awaits her.
Watching from the shadows are two men whose lives will become entangled with hers in ways none of them foresee:
Sir Rafe Sadler, loyal servant of the Crown, a man burdened by conscience in a court that punishes honesty; and
Thomas Culpepper, beautiful, reckless, and drawn to the Queen with a fervour that could ignite ruin.
As Henry VIII grows older, suspicious and hungry for devotion, the court becomes a maze of ambition, secrets, and whispered betrayals. Truth bends. Allegiances shift. And behind every polished surface lies something waiting to break.
The Reflection in the Mirror is a story of love, loyalty, and the perilous price of desire—where one misstep can cost a life, and even the mirror cannot be trusted to show what is real.
