These are photographs, not X-rays
These are not X-rays.
A surprisingly common misconception is that the surviving images of the remains examined in 1933 are X-rays. They are photographs of the bones removed from the Westminster Abbey urn during the authorised examination.
The original investigators did use both photography and X-rays—but the familiar images circulated today, showing the skull fragments, jawbones, teeth and other remains, are photographs.
Those photographs document what was found, but they cannot tell us whose bones these are.
Only a careful modern scientific examination could help establish their age, date, sex, ancestry and possible identity.
They may be the remains of Edward V and Richard, Duke of York—or they may not. Surely, after more than five centuries, it is time to seek evidence rather than continue speculating.
